Barberras All-in-1
Circadian Rhythm (internal clock)
Many people take Ashwagandha to promote restful sleep, and some evidence suggests it may also help with sleep issues.
For example, a study carried out on 50 adults ages 65–80 found that taking Ashwagandha root everyday, for 12 weeks significantly improved sleep quality and mental alertness upon waking, compared with a placebo treatment.
By allowing the body to have restful sleep patterns, allows the body`s
internal clock (Circadian Rhythm) to be reset to its natural rhythm.
Ashwagandha may also improve sleep in dogs by lowering Cortisol levels, in turn reducing stress levels and thus improving sleep patterns. The reduction in Cortisol may also help deal with behavioral issues in dogs.
Cognitive Function
Taking Ashwagandha may also help with improved cognitive function in humans.
One review of five clinical studies found early evidence that Ashwagandha could
improve cognitive functioning in certain populations, including older adults
with mild cognitive impairment and people with schizophrenia.
Cognitive functions it may benefit include:
Executive Functioning - Focus, Planning and Emotion Management
Attention - Sustained Focus on Information
Reaction Time - Response Time between Stimulus and Reaction
Performance on Cognitive Tasks - Thinking Learning, Remembering, etc.
Compounds found in Ashwagandha, including Withaferin A (WA), have antioxidant effects in the brain, which may benefit cognitive health.
Blood Sugar levels
There is evidence, although limited, which suggests that Ashwagandha may have some benefits for people with diabetes or high blood sugar levels.
A review of 24 studies, including 5 clinical studies in people with diabetes,
found that treatment with Ashwagandha significantly reduced blood sugar,
hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), insulin, blood lipids and oxidative stress markers.
The reason may be that certain compounds within Ashwagandha — including one called Withaferin A (WA) — have powerful Antidiabetic properties and may help stimulate cells to take in glucose from the bloodstream.
Athletic Performance
Research has shown that Ashwagandha may have beneficial effects on athletic
performance in humans and dogs, and may be a worthwhile supplement for both.
Evidence suggest the Ayurvedic herb may enhance physical performance, including muscle strength in humans and dogs, and oxygen use in humans during exercise.
Other evidence found that taking Ashwagandha significantly enhanced maximum oxygen consumption (VO2 max) in healthy adults and athletes; VO2 max is the maximum amount of oxygen a person can use during intense activity. It’s a measurement of heart and lung fitness.
Having optimal VO2 max is important for athletes and non-athletes alike. Low
VO2 max is associated with increased mortality risk, while higher VO2 max is
associated with a lower risk of heart disease.
Stress and Anxiety
Ashwagandha is perhaps best known for its ability to reduce stress. It’s
classified as an adaptogen, a substance that helps the human and animal body
cope with stress.
Ashwagandha may help control human mediators of stress, including heat shock proteins (Hsp70), cortisol, and stress-activated c-Jun N-terminal protein kinase (JNK-1).
It may also reduce the activity of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis in humans, a system in the body that regulates the stress response.
Ashwagandha extract may also significantly reduced perceived stress and levels of
the stress hormone cortisol.
Ashwagandha may also reduce Cortisol and Epinephrine levels in animals,
increase Serotonin levels to promote a sense of well-being and reduce
interleukin-6 (IL-6), which indicates decreased inflammation.
Barberras Bacteria Inhibitor

Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)
D-mannose may treat or prevent urinary tract infections (UTIs) in both humans and animals. Research suggests the supplement stops certain bacteria from sticking to the bladder walls.
Scientists believe that the bad bacteria stick to the sugar instead. This helps the bad bacteria leave the body during the natural drainage of urine from the body. Fewer bacteria in the bladder lowers the risk of a urinary tract infections for you and your furry friend.
Carbohydrate-Deficient Glycoprotein Syndrome type 1b
D-mannose can be used to treat a rare disease in humans called carbohydrate-deficient glycoprotein syndrome type 1b.
This disease is passed down through families. It makes you lose protein through the intestines. Some reports say D-mannose slows down this protein loss and makes your liver work better. It may also reduce bleeding disorders and low blood sugar in people with this disease.
If you were you consider Barberras Bacteria Inhibitor to help with this syndrome, we strongly recommend talking your treating doctor in the first instance, if you have not already done so or are not confident it will help in your case.
Bacteria
Some studies suggest D-mannose may play a useful role as a "prebiotic."
Prebiotics are substances that may help your body by stimulating the growth of "good" bacteria in your digestive system.
Barberras Glutathione Builder

Glutathione
Glutathione is one of the human and animal bodies most important
antioxidants; compounds that help neutralize free radicals that can damage cells and tissues.
Antioxidants help support the body’s natural immune system and toxin-elimination processes. Research also suggests that antioxidant intake may reduce the risk of several chronic conditions, including cardiovascular disease in humans.
Respiratory Conditions
NAC could relieve symptoms of respiratory conditions by acting as an antioxidant and expectorant, loosening mucus in human and animal air passageways.
As an antioxidant, NAC helps replenish glutathione levels in humans and animals lungs and reduces inflammation in the bronchial tubes and lung tissue.
By thinning mucus in humans and animals bronchial tubes and boosting glutathione levels, NAC may help decrease the severity and frequency of wheezing, coughing, and respiratory attacks.
In addition, NAC may improve other lung and respiratory tract conditions in humans, such as: cystic fibrosis; asthma and pulmonary fibrosis. As well as symptoms of nasal and sinus congestion due to allergies or infections in humans and animals.
Brain health
NAC’s ability to replenish Glutathione and regulate Brain Glutamate levels in humans could boost brain health.
The neurotransmitter Glutamate is involved in a broad range of learning, behavior, and memory functions, while the antioxidant Glutathione may help reduce brain cell oxidative damage associated with the aging process.
Because NAC helps regulate glutamate levels and replenish glutathione, it may benefit those with health conditions affecting the brain and memory.
Mental Health
NAC helps regulate Glutamate levels, the human brain’s most important neurotransmitter. While Glutamate is required for regular brain activity in humans, excess Glutamate and Glutathione depletion could cause brain damage.
This may contribute to mental health conditions such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and substance use disorder.
Male Fertility
In some cases, NAC has been shown to improve human male fertility
In almost half of cases where human couples are trying to conceive, male infertility is the main contributing factor. Many male infertility issues increase when antioxidant levels are insufficient to address free radical (unstable atoms that can damage cells) formation in the reproductive system.
One condition contributing to male infertility is varicocele — when veins inside the scrotum enlarge due to free radical damage. NAC supplements of 600mg per day, may reduce this chance of this occurring and in turn, improve semen integrity and partner pregnancy rates.

Inflammation Management
Green Lipped Mussels are a traditional superfood for the joint health of you and your furry friend, and are internationally recognized for their powerful inflammation management properties.
This is because it is known that the mussels are a rich source of anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids, especially eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which is shown to counteract inflammation.
Joints and Cartilage
The compounds in Green Lipped Mussels include glycosaminoglycans, also referred to as GAGs or the “glue of life”. GAGs contain chondroitin sulfate, which helps keep human and animal cartilage healthy by absorbing fluid (namely water) into the connective tissue and blocking destructive enzymes.
GAGs also work with chondrocytes to manage pain and inflammation, by channeling the activity away from degradation towards a focus on repair and provide the raw materials to rebuild cartilage.
Depression
Research led by King’s College London has, for the first time, shown that when omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) are given to human patients with depression they are metabolised into molecules called lipid mediators and the levels of these in the blood are linked to an improvement in symptoms.
Previous research has shown that people with major depressive disorder have higher levels of inflammation in their bodies than those without the disorder.
Memory Loss
Alzheimer’s disease is a devastating condition that causes memory loss and negatively affects thinking and behavior. It`s the leading cause of death in the United Kingdom.
Oxidative stress is believed to be involved in both the onset and progression of neurological diseases like Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s.
With several studies showing that patients with Alzheimer’s disease have lower blood levels of selenium.
One small study found that supplementing with Selenium daily, improved verbal fluency and other mental functions in patients with mild cognitive impairment.
Selenium may also help dogs fight infection by increasing the production of infection busting white blood cells.
Asthma
The NHS Health Research Authority are carrying our research to establish if taking omega-3 fatty acid dietary supplements, which have been shown to change leukotrienes (inflammatory chemicals), can help reduce the inflammation in the lungs and improve asthma symptoms.
Thyroid and Insulin Production
Zinc plays a vital role in both thyroid function and insulin regulation in humans by being a necessary component in the synthesis and metabolism of thyroid hormones, as well as directly influencing the production and activity of insulin in the pancreas, essentially helping to maintain proper hormone balance in the body; a zinc deficiency can lead to impaired thyroid function and potential issues with blood sugar control.
Barberras Antioxidant
Anti-inflammatory Properties
Inflammation is a necessary process in the body, as it fights off harmful invaders and repairs damage caused by bacteria, viruses and injuries. However, long-term inflammation has been implicated in most chronic conditions such as heart disease and cancer, so must be controlled, which is where anti-inflammatory compounds come in.
The curcumin in turmeric has proven, strong anti-inflammatory properties that block the action of inflammatory molecules in the body of you and your furry friends.
Studies also show positive effects of curcumin on humans and animals suffering from conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease, amongst others.
Antioxidant Properties
Curcumin has been shown to be a robust scavenger of oxygen free radicals, which are chemically active molecules that cause damage to cells in the bodies of humans and animals.
Free radical damage, along with inflammation, is a key driver of cardiovascular disease, so curcumin could play a part in preventing and managing heart disease for you and your furry friend.
In addition to antioxidant effects, turmeric has also been shown to lower cholesterol and triglycerides in humans and animals at risk of heart disease, and may improve blood pressure.
Antioxidants in turmeric may also reduce the risk of cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration in humans and with some help for dogs suffering with diabetic cataracts.
Anti-Cancer effects
Numerous human and animal studies have explored turmeric’s influence on cancer, and have found that it may affect cancer formation, growth and development at a molecular level.
Research has also shown that it may reduce the spread of cancer and could contribute to the death of cancerous cells in a variety of cancers, and may reduce the negative side effects of chemotherapy.
Liver
It's been suggested that curcumin's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions could improve you and your furry friends liver health by acting as a natural liver cleanser.
Curcumin is thought to help with the process of flushing out toxins from the body (including fats, common medications like painkillers and alcohol) and to generally help support the health of the liver of you and your furry friend.
Cholesterol
By helping to clear out excess cholesterol, turmeric may help to reduce fatty deposits in the liver and reduce liver inflammation for you and your furry friend.
One study involved 75 people being given turmeric supplements in varying doses from 15mg to 60mg, in order to ascertain the effect on cholesterol and triglycerides (a type of fat in the blood.)
The study showed that those taking the lower dose of curcumin three times daily had a greater reduction in overall cholesterol and higher levels of HDL ('good') cholesterol. Their levels of triglycerides remain unchanged.
Turmeric for dogs may reduce harmful cholesterol levels, maintain blood pressure within a healthy range, and regulate blood clotting. The spice also has the potential to safeguard the inner linings of blood vessels and arteries.
Get the most from your Turmeric and Black Pepper
The key to tapping into the health benefits of Turmeric lies in how you consume it.
Combining turmeric with black pepper has been shown to increase curcumin absorption by an impressive 2000%.
Barberras Prostate Complex
Prostate Cells
Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a powerful metabolite of testosterone, builds up in the prostate and causes it to grow as men get older. The phytochemicals in pumpkin seeds may reduce the effects of dihydrotestosterone on the prostate.
They may also block the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone and therefore reduce the chances of the prostate growing in size.
Prostate Cancer
Zinc is considered beneficial for prostate health because the prostate gland naturally stores high concentrations of zinc, and research suggests that adequate zinc levels may help protect against prostate cancer by inhibiting the growth and invasion of cancerous prostate cells, potentially due to its role in regulating cell division and apoptosis (programmed cell death) within the prostate tissue.
Irregular Prostate Cells
Isoflavones, primarily found in soy products, may help prostate health by acting like estrogen and binding to estrogen receptors in the prostate, which can potentially inhibit the growth of prostate cells by down-regulating the activity of androgens (male hormones) that contribute to prostate enlargement, potentially reducing the risk of prostate cancer development; this effect is primarily mediated through the activation of estrogen receptor beta (ER-β) in the prostate tissue.
Benign Prostate Hyperplasia
Lycopene is a phytochemical that belongs to a group of pigments known as carotenoids. It is red, lipophilic and naturally occurring in many fruits and vegetables, with tomatoes and tomato-based products containing the highest concentrations of bioavailable lycopene.
Several epidemiological studies have linked increased lycopene consumption with decreased prostate cancer risk.
These findings are supported by in vitro and in vivo experiments showing that
lycopene not only enhances the antioxidant response of prostate cells, but that it is even able to inhibit proliferation, induce apoptosis and decrease the metastatic capacity of prostate cancer cells.
Prostate Inflammation
Saw palmetto, a palm like plant from South East America, contains a special blend of phytochemicals (plant nutrients) that evidence suggests could help shrink an enlarged prostate and/or ease the urinary symptoms it causes.
One of these is beta-sitosterol. This blocks an enzyme that helps convert testosterone to dihydrotestosterone – DHT is thought to stimulate prostate growth.
Also contains:
Selenium which is shown to contribute to normal spermatogenesis and is also an antioxidant that contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Garlic which may help to maintain a healthy immune system and therefore may reduce the chance of bacterial infections of the prostate, such as Prostatitis.
