Payment

Do you accept payment by gift cards?

Yes, we do but only Barberras gift cards. These are issued electronically by email and each contains a unique reference number, that is only accepted as valid payment at Barberras Botanicals.

Our Gift Cards are ideal if you’re not sure what to get that special person in your life. Simply buy a gift voucher instead for the value of £25, £50 or £100.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently, for our UK customers, accept the following credit cards: Visa; Mastercard; Maestro; Diners - Discover; JCB; American Express®. For our UK customers, we also accept payment by Samsung Pay. We also accept payment via Klarna, so long as the checks put in place by Klarna are satisfied and we also accept payment by Trustly. Barberras payment processor is operated by VIVA Wallet UK.

 

 

Why don`t you accept PayPal?

We do not accept PayPal as the products Barberras sell, are currently treated by PayPal as restricted goods and therefore they will not allow use of their payment platform to purchase those types of goods from Barberras.

Unfortunately, this rule also applies to Apple Pay and Google Pay.

The current position of the above payment providers may change and as soon as this is so, Barberras will amend it`s payment methods immediately.

Can I pay by bank transfer?

Unfortunately, due to the costs levied against Barberras for this type of payment method, we do not offer this method to any customer.

We also do not offer bank transfer as a payment method, as this method can cause delays to payment and until payment is received by Barberras, goods will not be despatched and this can cause unnecessary delays to the delivery of goods.

However, we do accept payment via Trustly; Trustly provides the ability to make online payments directly from your bank account in a secure way. In addition to allowing for quick and easy payments, no sign-up or software installation is required.

Shipping and Postage

Where in the world do you ship to?

We currently only ship to customers who are based in the United Kingdom (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, England).

However, we sporadically review this position and we may, at some point prospectively, move into deliveries in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. 

N.B: Due to a recent change legislation, we cannot ship any of our products to Germany.

Who delivers goods for Barberras?

All items ordered within the UK are delivered using Royal Mail Tracked 48 service as standard and goods should be received within 3-5 days of dispatch.

We also use Royal Mail Tracked 24 for deliveries within 1-2 days. 

Do you do free delivery?

If you spend £24.99 or more on goods from Barberras, we offer free Royal Mail 48 delivery and that should have the goods to you within 3-5 working days.

Do you offer next day delivery?

Barberras currently does not, due to costs, offer next day delivery as standard.

However, we sporadically review our position on this and dependant on demand, may alter our position.

How much does it cost for delivery?

As previously, any order that totals £24.99 or more in value, will be shipped free of charge, using Royal Mail 48 Tracked.

For any Barberras own brand products, the cost is:

  • £2.93 for Royal Mail 48 Tracked
  • £3.66 for Royal Mail 48 Tracked

N.B: Price of postage for Barberras own brand may alter depending on the quantity/weight of the items purchased.

Returns/Refunds/Exchanges

Do you offer refunds?

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your returned goods, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. 

If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at info@barberrasbotanicals.com.

Can I return the goods I purchased?

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unopened and unused, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. 

To start a return, you should contact us in the first instance at info@barberrasbotanicals.com.

If your request to return is accepted, we’ll send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. 

You can always contact us for any return question at info@barberrasbotanicals.com

Please note: We do not allow the return of products prior to delivery. You will be unable to return the goods back to the driver/courier upon arrival, as this may lead to a lengthy returns process, and there is no guarantee that the returned goods will reach us. If you change your mind regarding the product, please wait until the order has been received and use the returns process as described above.

Do you exchange goods?

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Is it true that I have 14 days cooling off period?

Yes, that is true.

If the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. However, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

You must contact info@barberrasbotanicals.com to notify of your intention to return the unused goods and we will then forward instructions on how to retunr the unused goods.

My goods arrived damaged, what will you do about it?

If your goods arrive damaged or if you receive the wrong item, please take a photograph immediately and contact us via info@barberrasbotanicals.com so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

It would also be pertinent, should this be possible, to highlight to the delivery service that they have delivered damaged goods and in this way, we can liaise with them to investigate what has happened, should this be required.

Barberras endeavours to deliver the goods our customers purchase and without damage but acknowledges that, in some cases, the goods may be damaged in transit. 

Please feel free to leave a review, should you receive damaged goods or the wrong goods, as in this way Barberras can improve and deliver a world class service to our customers.

Miscellaneous

Do you need to hold a medical qualification to sell the products you sell?

No. Plain and simply.

Barberras is not selling medicines nor making any diagnosis nor putting together any treatment plan, and so is not legally required to ensure the staff employed by Barberras hold professional qualifications in medicine.

However, we only choose suppliers of our products that comply with Food Supplement Regulations 2003 and/or the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) rules on health claims.

Barberras is also required to register with our Local Authority as a Food Business Operator because we sell food supplements.

What do you with my personal information?

  • Providing Products and Services. We use your personal information to provide you with the Services in order to perform our contract with you, including to process your payments, fulfill your orders, to send notifications to you related to your account, purchases, returns, exchanges or other transactions, to create, maintain and otherwise manage your account, to arrange for shipping, facilitate any returns and exchanges and other features and functionalities related to your account. We may also enhance your shopping experience by enabling Shopify to match your account with other Shopify services that you may choose to use. In this case, Shopify will process your information as set forth in its Privacy Policy and Consumer Privacy Policy.
  • Marketing and Advertising. We may use your personal information for marketing and promotional purposes, such as to send marketing, advertising and promotional communications by email, text message or postal mail, and to show you advertisements for products or services. This may include using your personal information to better tailor the Services and advertising on our Site and other websites. If you are an EEA resident, the legal basis for these data processing activities is our legitimate interest in selling our products, according to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
  • Security and Fraud Prevention. We use your personal information to detect, investigate or take action regarding possible fraudulent, illegal or malicious activity. If you choose to use the Services and register an account, you are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe. We highly recommend that you do not share your username, password, or other access details with anyone else. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately. If you are an EEA resident, the legal basis for these data processing activities is our legitimate interest in keeping our website secure for you and other customers, according to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
  • Communicating with You and Service Improvement. We use your personal information to provide you with customer support and improve our Services. This is in our legitimate interests in order to be responsive to you, to provide effective services to you, and to maintain our business relationship with you according to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

Do I have to provide you with any of my personal information?

No. You are not obliged to provide Barberras any of your personal information.

However, should you not provide personal information, such as your name or address or email address. We will not, as we do not sell our products in a shop, be able to provide you with the goods or services you may wish to purchase.

We will also not be able to provide you access to any membership service we may offer prospectively.

Nor would we be able to provide you with marketing information, such as; exclusive news, exclusive offers/discounts, etc.

Do you provide a consultation service?

As none of our staff are medically trained and we are not providing a medical service, we are not in a position to provide a consulation service about what is the correct product for you or your furry friend.

However, we do provide detailed descriptions of the ingredients included in the products we sell, links to scientific and medical research about the products we sell, detailed information about the health conditions that humans and animals can suffer with and how our products may help prevent or help deal with, testimonials about how our products have helped humans and their furry friends, detailed information about how our products could interact (contraindications) with medical conditions our products cannot prevent or help with, and cautionary advice about our products and how they may react with other medications you or your furry friend are prescribed.

We make it very clear that if you or your pet are currently taking prescribed medication and/or are under medical supervision for a health condition you belive one of our products can help with, that you consult with a healthcare professional who knows your health history.

My GP told me not to take Green Lipped Mussel Powder for my Inflammation. Can they do that?

No.

Your doctor cannot stop you taking any over the counter medication or having any non-NHS treatment you wish to treat any health condition you may have.

However, they can refuse to prescribe medication or offer treatment frrom the NHS, should they be able to demonstrate, when questioned, why that particular prescribed medication or treatment would not be suitable for your needs.

There is case law that doctors must observe when discussing treatment options with a patient, that currently is The Montgomery Case 2014.

The case makes it clear that:

  • Doctors are required to discuss all options available if they are appropriate/reasonable in a particular patient's case
  • Doctors are expected to offer any and all treatments that can be found globally/in research settings
  • If a patient requests a treatment/procedure that they do not think is a reasonable or appropriate option, they can refer on to another clinician for a second opinion.

The GP is also bound by his professional body, The General Medical Council (GMC), to ensure that:

  • making the care of patients is their first concern
  • they provide a good standard of practice and care, and work within their competence
  • they work in partnership with patients and support them to make informed decisions about their care
