Green Lipped Mussel Powder is internationally renowned for its exceptional inflammation management properties, with Green Lipped Mussels being a staple food of the indigenous Māori people of New Zealand’s coasts and in observations of the Māori people, it was shown they had a lower incidence of arthritis than people who lived inland.

The Green Lipped Mussels Barberras use is sourced from the Marlborough Sounds region of New Zealand. New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel contain high levels of glycoproteins that damp down inflammation in arthritic joints and is sourced from some of the worlds cleanest and purest waters.

The Green Lipped Mussel we use is the best that New Zealand has to offer. It is pressure extracted using CO2 from frozen mussels in order to maximise the lipid content. Freeze-drying, removes water at low temperatures, providing product stability and nutrient retention.

Barberras Green Lipped Mussel supplement is perfect for use in dogs and cats as well as humans.

Dogs per 10 kg: 0.5 g (500mg) daily

Cats: 0.5 g (500mg) daily

If needed, the recommended amount can be increased to double. However, to acclimatize, start with 50% of the daily dose for 3 - 5 days.

The capsule can easily opened and the powder then easily mixed with the food in the that first 3-5 days. After the acclimatizing period, full capsules can be given.

Cautions:

While rare, some dogs may be allergic to shellfish and experience itching, skin irritation, difficulty breathing, or swelling around the face or throat.

If you are not aware whether your dog is allergic, place a small amount on the gum and if there is a reaction, do not use further. Should there be an extreme reaction to this small test, please contact your local veterinarian practice immediately.
